Johne Murphy - Munster Rugby

Johne Murphy is an Irish rugby union footballer who plays wing, full-back or centre for Munster Rugby in the RaboDirect Pro12. Murphy also played for the Ireland A side on 1st February 2008.
He won the 2010-11 Magners League in his first season at the province. Murphy signed a two-year contract extension with Munster in March 2012.
Johne Murphy is a past participant with the Community Games and here is what he had to say about his time with us:
“I competed in the cross country relay at U12s and we qualified for Mosney in my parish Monasterevin. I think we came fourth or fifth but I remember at the time it was huge to be involved, and at that age it was massive and great to be part of it.
It was really community orientated and all of my school friends were involved and I went down and joined in, and that’s where it came from. Then when I was in Newbridge I continued on taking part up until I was around 15, doing relays and stuff like that. It was great craic and great fun, out enjoying yourself during the summers, so I would definitely advise anyone to get involved.”
